High Sierra Club build upon the tradition of Coheed and Cambria with their latest single, Waiting. Tremendously complex instrumentation is interspersed with impassioned vocals to make something that will affect fans in a number of way. The dynamics that are established between the guitars and drums call back to the days of At The Drive-In and The Appleseed Cast. High Sierra Club’s strongest side comes in the dynamics it establishes among the bass / drums and guitar / drums at points during this cut. The song is able to meander a bit towards a more contemplative sound, especially around the 2:20-2:50 mark. Waiting is a full package, an epic crafted in 3:30 that will have one clamoring for more.
