The Difference has a fun synth-pop veneer that will call back to the mid-1980s like no other. Charismatic vocals blend nicely with a bit of late-1990s styled electronic music. For fans of MGMT or Passion Pit, The Difference is robust, catchy as all get, and will be on fans’ lips throughout the next few months. It is nice to get such an eclectic, spontaneous feeling sound that is able to so deftly blend together two musical styles that feel a bit contradictory on the surface. We’ll be jamming The Difference for the foreseeable future; airy, bright, and fun, the song is one of the first must-listens of 2020.
