The stories of disproportionate force being utilized by police departments towards African-Americans has been a sad reality of the last 100+ years; Shaheed’s smart repetition of the titular phrase has the effect of hammering home this fact into the minds of anyone listening to the track. The track’s backing beat is deceptively simple with a booming bass and the lightest touch of keys, putting the brightest spotlight upon the lyrical content that is laid down here. 1 Time 2 Many is a track that is needed in this current environment.
