Kevin Phillips’s Order My Steps is a powerful composition that showcases the importance of keeping your faith. The struggle that believers have with all of the ills of the world are addressed here, as Phillips identifies the only way to truly be successful is to follow Jesus. The track has Kevin’s vocals at the forefront, but the instrumentation is nothing to sneeze at. A funky bass line is perfectly punctuated by on-point drums, while Donnie Breeze’s lyrical flow ads a bit of rap into the pop / gospel approach of the first half of the track. Order My Steps is an effort that can succeed in the secular world but is much more important in its ability to influence those that may need it.
