The Loft Club’s “Flicker” is an inspirational and hopeful alt-rock track track that incorporates a little math-rock, a little indie, and a little bit of the 1990s. Adding in some guest vocals from Lisa Loeb, The Loft Club are able to create in Flicker a song that is utterly timeless in its execution. The taut instrumentation that plays in the background perfects the mid-oughts indie (e.g. Deep Elm Records) sound. The back and forth between the pair of vocals showcases the process of falling (and staying) in love. The passion and emotion in which each line is incorporated in Flicker will resound loudly with anyone fortunately enough to listen in.
