“Sunny Days” is the wonderful new track from singer/songwriter Stacy Gabel. Just as warm as the title suggests, Gabel successfully catches sun rays and puts them to song. She spreads love and optimism and one would be hard pressed to not fall under her spell and the catchy chorus. The multiple-Lehigh Valley Style & Music Award Winner, continues to represent her home state of Pennsylvania with songs that make you feel lighter on your feet and always seem to elevate your mood.

The acoustic guitar creates a thrilling undertow. The arrangement gathers like a bouquet of pastels, but the majority of the hues are vibrant primary colors – the kind you might see on a parachute. Oh you lift me up, just like a hot air balloon, Gabel sings. Her voice is confident and strong – like she’s been accustomed to singing in front of a large group or audience for many years. A part of me thinks she has the voice for Broadway. She’s very precise. When she projects, she is endearing. You want to hear more from her because she’s enthusiastic and generous. You know what that sound really is? It’s the voice of an artist that is free and believes in her work and is connecting with her audience. She brings a wealth of joy to the world with “Sunny Days”.

Inspiring books that fill you up are one thing but music like this is on a whole other playing field. Gabel blends together a high-integrity sound, a natural gregariousness and charming guitar work. “Sunny Days” is right up there with “It’s A Beautiful Morning” (The Rascals), “Waiting For a Star to Fall” (Boy Meets Girl) and “You’re Love Keeps Lifting Me Higher” (Jackie Wilson) for songs that make you feel good.

If you like “Sunny Days” (and you will), be sure to check out some of Gabel’s other songs: “Meant to Be” (2018 Global Music Award Winner for lyrics/songwriter), “Mask On” (2021 top Diamond Award Winner of the Pinnacle Film Awards out of Los Angeles; “Mask On” was featured in the film Sanitize This and “Stir Crazy” (finalist in the Great American Song Contest). Gabel has a real knack for piercing the heart and lifting the voice of her audience, that internal voice in all of us that needs some tenderness from time-to-time. I can see this song as being an anthem and champion of mental health and suicide prevention.

Though she doesn’t outright say it, the words imply that everyone means something to another person. The importance of one person to another is immeasurable. It can also be a song about being smitten, or just expressing love to a family member. “Sunny Days” is for any music fan that needs that extra nudge to get out of bed in the morning and to not only celebrate the day itself but celebrate life. Gabel is the cheerleader and the motivation that couldn’t come at a better time – “Sunny Days” is the real light we need in 2022.
