Adding in equal amounts of electronic, dance, and funk, Davis tells the story of blossoming love. The narrative generated here is something that anyone that’s fallen in love will understand, while Davis’s alluring vocals are able to pull double-duty in adding to the overall harmonies of the effort (alongside the aforementioned narrative element). There’s a truly timeless patina that resides on All I Need for Christmas Is You; it’s able to call back to earlier Christmases even as the song itself possesses modern sensibilities.
