Ian Ward’s “You Can Do Better” is a soulful track that immediately puts a highlight on Ward’s vocals and guitars. The instrumentation on You Can Do Better is amazing, giving each performer ample time to shine. We’re particularly impressed with the dynamic of the bass and the drums here, but the guitars are given the focal point in the time. It is those guitars that interact most significantly with Ward’s vocals, making for a dynamic that is a bit Santana and a bit Matchbox 20. Throughout the entirety of You Can Do Better’s run time, Ian puts in his mind, body, and soul; this may just be our favorite track of his so far.
We have previously covered Ian’s One Shot for NeuFutur.
