East Arcadia Demo-Despite the decidedly emo sounding name, East Arcadia is a very hard hitting punk band with sharp vocals and ever present bass lines. The drums, being played at a breakneck speed, never fail to keep up with the superb vocals and guitar playing and add a whole new dimension to the band. When I received this cd, I noticed the lyric sheet, which was just a sheet of…

East arcadia play a style of fast, clean punk rock that manifests itself into a number of styles, of which a number can be found in arguably the best track on the disk, Preservation. Throwing in both a killer bass solo and a fast guitar solo, this track stands as a beacon to all potential listeners of this CD. All the Same has a heavily Epitaph feel to it, with…
Bisco Smith Reveals Music Video For First Single From Forthcoming Album, The Broadcast. Video Premiered On MySpace.com Critical Praise for Bisco Smith: “Bisco’s debut album has a decidedly dark, creepy and measured ambience, much like a thriller when the hero is about to turn the corner… he examines the fragile nature of our existence.” – The Source “Bisco is continuing the longstanding NY tradition of cutting edge hip-hop.” – Skunk…
Crack Up represents the rare genre of death’n’roll – a fascinating combination of death metal brutality with the melodic rock’n’roll approach. Over the years, the band managed to release four full-length albums, with each making a huge step in their musical evolution. “From the Graveâ€, the group’s second LP from 1997, is considered as their breakthrough release, ultimately forming Crack Up’s significant style…. Whereas the band’s debut album “Blood is…
Denver, Colorado extreme metal troop ENEMY REIGN refuse to adhere to the restrictions of a closed-minded genre. Drawing influence from early ’90s death metal, late ’80s grindcore, East Coast hardcore, and Bay Area thrash, friends and fans have coined the term “metal for metalheads.” ENEMY REIGN features former Skinless vocalist Sherwood Webber alongside drummer Andon Guenther (Deadspeak; creative director, programmer, and co-creator of Sick Drummer Magazine), guitarist Nick Guenther (Becoming…
Perfect music for the Clearchannel new-rock radio and Mtv, Earshot mix Maynard’s voice with the guitar assault of bands like Disturbed and Linkin Park. Each track on “Two†has been perfectly mastered to give the sound of the disc an anti-septic feeling that rings hollow to anyone but those teenagers who are pissed because mommy and daddy took away their freshly-bought Hot Topic choker. Each track is cut from the…

The Early November start out their side of the split with a demo version of “Outsideâ€, a track that does have a certain amount of grittiness to it that is not enough to muffle the Weezer-like sounds that issue from the band during the track. There seems to be a certain meandering quality to this track that makes the track feel a little more repetitive and episodic that perhaps it…

Jokers Of The Scene’s recent remixes for the likes of Mika, Acid Girls and Burns have been making waves in forward-thinking DJ sets and blog charts alike. But it’s their original tune “Baggy Bottom Boys” that has become a signature anthem – an enormous dance track that’s as moody as it is ecstatic. It’s a perfect introduction to JOTS, whose sound continues to mutate from straight-up club bangers into a…

Esthero now is much different than ey was back in 1998, when I was lucky enough to see the “Heaven Sent†video. It looks like there was a decent period in Esthero’s career where ey was deep in the shadows – the album that had “Heaven Sent†on it came out in 1998, and Esthero didn’t come out with anything new until 2004. It may just be the case that…
Metal Mind Productions presents Silver Mountain, a legendary Scandinavian heavy metal group hailing from Malmo in Sweden.
