Through the Wormhole with Morgan Freeman (DVD)

Morgan Freeman, even with being one of Hollywood’s most memorable actors, has some serious skill when it comes to narration. Viewers will be assured of this as Freeman introduces some of science’s most well-known scholars (a list that includes luminaries like Brian Cox and Michio Kaku) and their interesting takes on different phenomenon. This set, comprising the show’s five best episodes, will give viewers insight into what was present in…

Teak Feature

We here at NeuFutur do not get many Australian bands sending us material for coverage; despite possessing millions upon millions of citizens, this continent seems to be particularly barren when it comes to bands that possess the fire to become something bigger than mainstays at their local bar or venue.

Jay Aura – iParty EP (CD)

“I Won’t Remember Much!” is the first track on the iParty EP, and it immediately will hook listeners of individuals like Jay Sean, Taio Cruz, or even Owl City. With a blend of electronic and pop sounds present, “Remember Much” will ensure that listeners stick with Jay Aura through all of the four tracks on this EP. At a svelte three minutes, this track opens the iParty EP nicely and…

Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy (Sony PSP)

This latest Final Fantasy title takes place before the events that occurred in 2009’s Dissidia. The gameplay is based on solo (1v1) battles, which have players deciding between a buff (Bravery attacks) and an HP-reducing attack. This strategy is further varied with the inclusion of EX Cores on the battle field, which further buff characters’ attacks. What represents a new addition to the Dissidia line with Dissidia 012 is the…

Samurai Warriors: Chronicles (Nintendo 3DS)

We were able to get our Nintendo 3DS fired up and active, and were able to pretty immediately get our copy of Samurai Warriors: Chronicles ready to go. One of the numerous launch titles for the new console, Samurai Warriors: Chronicles absolutely sparkles with a number of different additions and fun new features previously not present in the Samurai Warriors line. Of key importance has to be the sheer amount…

Peanuts Double Feature (DVD)

A great many of the different companies that release childrens’ films try to release them with as few bells and whistles are is humanely possible. It is thus refreshing to see Paramount bundle together two different Peanuts titles – A Boy Named Charlie Brown and Snoopy, Come Home – in a value-priced ($15.49 currently at Amazon) title. The video prints are stellar considering the former was released in 1969 and…

Kiseleff – A Sound Seal (CD)

It seems almost as if a number of musicians and bands take a few tracks to introduce themselves and come to the creation of a hit, but Kiseleff’s first effort on “A Sound Seal” is downright jaw-dropping. This track, “Quicksilver Universe”, builds off of the work of bands like New Order and Depeche Mode even while possessing a tempo that would make acts like Tiesto and Daft Punk jealous. “Savannah”…

iStudiez Pro (Mac)

With all the things that the new Mac AppStore has to offer, one of the things I was really wishing for most was a new Mac version of the popular iStudiez Pro App that I have for both my iPhone and my iPad. iStudiez Pro is an App for keeping your homework, assignments, grades, and classes all straight, and with ease, I might add. Both of the iOS versions of…

OATHBREAKER JOINS THE DEATHWISH FAMILY, MAELSTROM ALBUM OUT SOON

Oathbreaker are a brutal Punk/Metal band from Ghent, Belgium. To outsiders, Belgium is a country rich in cultural diversity and history. However to its residents it is also a country of crime, corruption, and political incompetence. For the Ghent based Oathbreaker, the festering blood that surfaces from these social cracks and fissures burns as fuel for their creative engine. After their formation in early 2008, Oathbreaker released a debut 7″EP…

Billy Joel – Live at Shea Stadium (Legacy/Columbia)

Billy Joel’s decades long career has mirrored other pop musicians, most notably Neil Diamond: starting out a thoughtful writer/performer churning out one great song after another, before sliding into the over-produced slickness of the late 80’s, early 90’s churning out basic, paint by number radio ready hits with little effort or thought (“The River of Dreams”), laying low for awhile and finally hitting legendary status embraced by everyone from the…

Teak Interview

What exactly brought Teak together? What significance does the name hold? We evolved out of an acoustic covers group that was developing its own tracks on the side. With the name Teak, we didn’t want to be locked into a certain genre or style that would restrict what we wrote.  We like the diversity and freedom of not being stereo typed. We wanted to write songs about things that we…

Moet & Chandon Nectar Imperial – Rose (Champagne)

Over the course of the last few years, we at NeuFutur have gotten a tremendous amount of different wines, spirits, beers, and the like. In that time, we’ve filled out our Alcohol Reviews section considerably, but it has always seems as if there was something missing. We received a bottle a while back that I believe brings our wine and spirits coverage to the next level.

Red: My Uncensored Life in Rock by Sammy Hagar and Joel Selvin (It! Books)

Sammy Hagar may have miscalculated a bit if he was looking to bolster his aw shucks good guy reputation with his just-released memoir. Before the book came out he was pretty much a clean slate, with many having little or no opinion about the red rocker. Sure he got dinged a bit for stepping into David Lee Roth’s shoes, but contrary to popular belief, he was a far better songwriter…

The Venture Bros.: Season 4, Vol. 2 (DVD)

A show like The Venture Bros. could only exist on the Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim. Equally as impressive as anything the channel has turned out before from Aqua Teen Hunger Force to Metalocalypse, The Venture Bros. centers around the clueless brothers Dean and Hank Venture, their madman/ultimately an ok guy scientist father and his bodyguards.

The Times of Harvey Milk (Blu-Ray)

The amount of help that Harvey Milk brought to the then-new LGBT movement cannot be understated. Exactly how much that cause was hurt after ey was assassinated cannot be understated in the same way. Where much is made of the murdering of Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X, Harvey Milk’s unfortunate path from this world is something that has not been given quite the amount of ink that it…
