Norwegian rockers Ungdomskulen have influences in experimental rock and pop, but have crafted a sound all their own. Having played together for nearly a decade, the band releases their fourth studio album, Secrecy, today on DATAROCK’s own YAP Records! Album single  “Facemask” features booming bass and drums beneath melodic vocals, and the band’s own Kristian Stockhaus remixed the track into an electronic frenzy. Complete with futuristic synth sounds and a digitized horse’s “neigh,” check out the appropriately-titled “Facemask” (Stockhaus Horse Face remix) MP3 where it premiered with Discobelle or HERE, and feel free to post & share.

Inspired by the bond built from weeks spent on the road together, Secrecy was recorded in a studio built by the band itself. The record blends the experimental flare of the avant-garde genre with fundamental punk, rock and dance sensibilities. First single “Askefast” is a blitz of a song with rapid-fire percussion and an irregular beat that will keep you on your toes. “Kafka On Ice” is a slow jam, twisting and turning with hazy, distorted guitars and reverberating vocals. “Young Hearts” is a melodic track that allows Stockhaus’ vocals to take center stage, backed by harmonies and a dense instrumental foundation.

With surprises at every turn, be sure to check out Secrecy and stay tuned for more from Ungdomskulen!
