The Goombas are able to call back to the pop-rock of the mid-1960s with their latest track, If You Wanna Survive. A fuzzy guitar and a set of jazz-inspired drums create a solid backdrop upon which the vocals can build off of. The track whips in hints of The Troggs and The Rolling Stones, while the presence of horns provides a bit more depth to the composition.
Gradually increasing the tempo the further that If You Wanna Survive continues along, The Goombas are able to really tattoo the song’s melodies deep into the minds and hearts of listeners. The 2:15 mark yields a tremendous instrumental section that the band is able to ride out on.
