Ontario, Canada is brimming with excitement, culture, and most importantly, some of the most breathtaking views in North America.

It is not every day that you see interesting rock formations, towering buildings in curvy shapes, stunning old libraries, and sand dunes so high that you cannot see over them.

If you have not already, it is time to plan your trip to Ontario. Pack your hiking gear and camera and make your reservations, because you are not going to want to miss out on these seven best sight-seeing spots in Ontario.

1. The Library of Parliament

Book lovers will rejoice at the opportunity to walk through the stacks of books inside the Library of Parliament.

This library is one hundred and forty-three years old, but it is just as beautiful as the day that it was first built. With buttresses and wooden carvings on the towering shelves, you will feel like you have been transported back to 1876 inside the Library of Parliament in Ontario.

2. Flowerpot Island

If you have never heard of Flowerpot Island, it is exactly as cool as it sounds. This beautiful sight is off the coast of Tobermory, and it holds large rock formations that take the form of flowerpots!

Enjoy the view by hiking along the coast and climbing up the rocks. Then, take a swim in the blue waters to get the view of the flowerpot rocks from below.

3. The Sleeping Giant

While we are on the topic of interestingly shaped rock formations, Ontario is also home to another strange sight—The Sleeping Giant!

This rock formation takes the form of a person sleeping when you look at it from above. Take your chance to hike along the sleeping giant or book an aerial tour to fly over and take a look for yourself.

4. Rainy Lake

You are not going to want to miss out on your opportunity to go fishing on Rainy Lake in Fort Frances. With large bass, walleye, northern pike, and the rarer muskie, this is the top fishing spot for tourists and residents alike.

Make a reservation at The Sleepy Owl, a popular Fort Frances hotel, that is only a couple blocks away from the action at the popular Rainy Lake, and get ready to reel ’em in.

5. Sandbanks Provincial Park

If you love the beach, you are going to fall in love with the world’s largest bay mouth dune formation, located in Ontario.

This park is especially great because if you really enjoy being amongst the sand and the water, you are able to camp out for the night to really take in all of its beauty.

6. Absolute World Towers

When the sun goes down, take a trip into Mississauga to see these two towers that are often called the Marilyn Monroe Towers, likely because of their curvy shape.

And last but not least…

7. The CN Tower

Probably the most famous landmark in Ontario, the CN Tower stands tall (and revolving) in downtown Toronto.

This tower is incredibly popular for its revolving restaurant, offering 360-degree views of the city while you are enjoying your dinner. No trip to Ontario would be complete without seeing this famous tower. Don’t worry about it being too ‘touristy’—people enjoy it for a reason. If you have not seen it yet, go see it now!

Ontario, Canada is full of charming and lively cities as well as gorgeous islands and rich natural environments. If you enjoy traveling and seeing new and wonderful places, these places in Ontario could make great pit stops on your next big trip.
