During World of Lies, Mike Bertini is able to craft a careful track that will appease fans of 1980s soft-rock ballads. With hints of Phil Collins and Bryan Adams weaved through the single, World of Lies immediately endears itself to listeners. The gradual instrumental progression effortlessly blends together keys, guitars and drums. Taking on R.E.M. and Paul Simon alongside a bit of doo-wop and gospel, World of Lies continues to yield new twists and turns with each subsequent spin. Loving the increased focus on the instrumentation over the course of the last minute.

We previously covered Bertini’s Those Nights back in September.
