With all of the crazy events that have been occurring in the world so far this year (I myself just got power back after Hurricane Laura), I feel that I’ve been focusing more and more on merely staying afloat rather than building up new skills. While much of face to face instruction is simply not possible until 2021 at the earliest, it seems as if I will have to go and locate new how-to and DIY guides from online sources. Great Big Minds is a solid resource in that they provide ample amount of information while staying fairly broad with the sort of sources with which they discuss.

Part of the other issue that I see arising with myself is making sure I maintain my focus on whatever skill I’m trying to learn and regularly practiing whatever it is that I’m currently focused in on. For example, I really want to go and purchase a metal detector to start figuring out what sort of treasures lay underneath my lawn. I know that I wouldn’t ever use the thing after getting it, because the sun will absolutely fry me during seasonal days and any sort of rain would drive me away from the field which I’d be perusing.

Another thing that individuals may want to get into during the long amount of house time we all seem to be doing would be writing a blog. If you’re reading this, you already know I’ve been a blogger for twenty-two years. It’s a decent way to spend extra time, for sure. If you are able to put in enough time honing your skills, there’s even a chance you could parlay your passion into a real-life, paying job. It may just be the shot in your arm needed to make the bad memories of 2020 begin to fade, replaced with something more positive.
