January 6 Some countries around the globe celebrate the arrival of three wise men to Jesus’ birth. It’s a time for family for some, while others see it as a Christmas gift-giving season. This means that families would purchase gifts for their family to pass on to others, much like Santa’s second visit. Spain is one of Europe’s most passionate countries. Three wise men (or Kings) are a time of feasting, family, and gifts. It was a pleasure to visit family in Spain during this time.

We lived in an area east of Magos en Madrid, close to Coslada. On the fifth of January, we had a huge breakfast feast. We had churros, as well as many other sweets. We also had some marzipan from Toledo and mandarins from the local area. After enjoying our first meal, we decided to stay in Madrid for the remainder of the day. Parades were held all across the country on the eves of the wise kings, which was lively. We went to Spain for one of the largest celebrations. The center of Madrid.

Puerta del Sol

This was our chance to see the surrounding area. We visited Puerta del SolEnjoy a cup of coffee while taking in the stunning architecture. We were determined to make the most of this day. We took the opportunity to go bakery hadTurronMoremarzipan. It was huge due to its central location. Although I don’t remember the name of the bakery, it was prevalent. There was always a long line waiting for their food. There were many beautiful pastries, cakes, and apple pies on offer. You can also order self-made bagels, donuts, and sandwiches. We were after something sweeter, of course. Remember that turron can be produced almost exclusively at this location.

It was just afternoon, and the entire area was alive. Madrid is a city famous for its celebrations. The parade was, however, the main event of the day. The rest of the day was spent looking at the decorations and the various performing bands. The colorful performers performed many types of songs. There were street gamblers, people in outrageous costumes who did tricks, and others who broke the rules.

After several hours of enjoying the festivities, most of the day was over and it was dark. The parade started in full force. A large crowd surrounded the train. The parade street was surrounded by voices speaking in every language, from Spanish to Mandarin to Arabic. This particular parade is nationally recognized. To get a great view, we squeezed through the crowd.

Parade

The street was led by performers, who were accompanied by music and dancers. As the first float arrived, cheers were heard from the crowd. It was a fantastic display of bright colors and flair. The parade is supposed to celebrate peace, joy, and solidarity.

The colorful floats were rolled in, and people dressed up danced, laughed, and cheered on the crowd. The entire float is covered with lights. They are very bright and easily visible from a distance. After seeing a few more floats, we saw the large float with the three wise men. They waved at screaming children as they passed. The crowd went wild. They rode a train equipped with lights that looked like Christmas tree lights. As it is custom, They began to throw candy at the crow It was as if the carriage were an ocean, and they gave sweets to all of their children.

The whole thing was quite funny to me. It seems like a Spanish tradition to pass stuff along to passers-by. The TomatinaAnother Spanish tradition in which people throw tomatoes at white shirt participants was called “Tomato Throwing”. Another event that is worth participating in. But that is not the central theme of the adventure.

I managed to sneakily grab a few sweets (churches) that were being thrown at me. My cousins, who were little at the time, were going crazy and grabbing more candy than they could hold. At the end of their journey, the three wise men gave a speech that emphasized the importance of the three previously mentioned values. Every child picked up every last piece of candy, and the sweepers cleared the streets.

My cousins were in a sugar rush the rest of the evening. We rode the metro to home and arrived at our destination with an empty stomach—a massive family feast. You can eat many different types of traditional meats and cheeses.SeafoodSpanish holiday meals are always prepared with the same cuisine. This is a great time to visit Spain. You should also check out Madrid’s parades. If you cannot attend, many other cities in Madrid and Spain can be visited. Their trio of wise men marched.

Celebrate this holiday with local desserts, and eat well. Feasting is a popular way of celebrating holidays in this area.
