She Rises, the newest single from Karen Atkins, is a softly-stated piece of alt-pop that builds off the framework of performers like Liz Phair and Natalie Cole. There’s a bit of rap-esque flow that starts up shortly after, giving She Rises a very unique sound that will undoubtedly draw fans in. The distinct parts of She Rises all join to make an engrossing effort; what is presented here is starkly different than most fair that we have encountered. We’re here for whatever Karen releases in the future.

We’ve previously covered a few of Karen’s songs over the last bit, including her Somebody, Slip Slidin’ Away and High On Love (Can’t Get Too).
