Produced by Stefan Örn and Johan Glössner, co-produced by OLZON alongside Johan…
Allagash has created a Saison that expands the contours of the farmhouse style while imbuing it with just enough alcohol presence to make this into an endearing effort. The beer pours with considerable haze and virtually no head. The head that does collect is off-white and dissipates quickly, owing to the effervescence of the Saison style. The beer blends equal parts malt, hop, and links these sides together with…
Pennsylvania instrumental bass and drum trio, KING DEAD, are very pleased to announce the release of their debut EP. Recorded live in their practice/performance space, The Living Room, in Stroudsburg by Dave Reiser of Rock Hard Studios, the self-titled offering features five organic movements of ethereal, desert-styled Spaghetti Westernish psychedelia that seethe under the bulk of their own twirling, glassy-eyed heaviness. Relays The Obelisk, “At thirty-three minutes, the self-titled…

Be Calm Honcho is a quartet of sugared, salty hams, living in San Francisco with a lumpy lunch sack of strange strengths. Born on the eve of 2013, Shannon, Alex, Mikey & Jacob have been tenderly prying open the soft spots of rock ‘n’ roll and inserting a dreamy and toothsome rawness. They’ve pooled their geographic wizardry from the idle bayous of Lafayette, LA [Jacob], citrus groves and strip malls…

Few musicians are able to keep listeners interested through ten tracks, much less fifteen. TaQuita Thorns has imbued each of the cuts on Rough and Fancy with enough of her inimitable style and eclectic tastes in music to ensure that fans will stick with the album from the beginning strains of “Forever” until the last notes of “Believe (Power of Love).” The production of the tracks on Rough and Fancy…
There are so many childrens’ titles that are released on a regular basic that it becomes extremely hard to separate the wheat from the chaff. Kim Cameron has a title that should be purchased by parents that wish to provide their children with imaginative settings and challenging (but ultimately approachable) reading. The physical and audio versions of this book are two different entities, as Kim has provided music and…
Friend Slash Lover have just cut their new single, “Don’t Retouch Me There.” The track presents listeners with hints of Chromeo, Imagine Dragons, and MGMT. With equal parts EDM and seventies-inspired indie rock, “Don’t Retouch Me There” is as much of a dance single as it is good fodder for dorm parties. The band cultivates a crisp sound on this release, while keeping the echo-heavy vocals in perfect harmony…

Boswell immediately inspire listeners with their title track to Beryllium. The track comes forth with a blend of alternative and indie styling, touching upon Portishead, Bjork, and Radiohead. The band’s instrumental arrangements on this introductory track are very well thought-out, providing listeners with something meaty while providing ample support for Melanie’s vocals. No, Miser! looks back to sixties rock and psychedelic, as the constituent elements of the band craft a…
Small Black has released a video for “Real People”, the title track off of their forthcoming 12″ EP. Helmed by Nick Bentgen, this video perpetuates the off-beat beauty from Bentgen and Small Black’s previous joint venture for “Breathless”. Bentgen described the concept behind the video and working with Small Black: I love talking about movies with Josh. He’s a huge cinephile, and we recently got to talking about sci-fi films…
