Essential pop punk band New Found Glory has just announced a remarkable live pairing with Chris Carrabba’s influential outfit Dashboard Confessional for a one of a kind North America tour with a proceeding headlining run of warm-up dates to kick off the tour in support of their new video & single “Don’t Let Her Pull You Down.” New Found Glory’s recent Epitaph release “Not Without A Fight” is a triumphant…
Bad Veins’ first radio track, “Gold and Warm,” was singled out in Spin magazine as one of September’s “Songs You Must Hear Now!,” praising the boys for flipping, “Pavement’s slacker racket into mainstream magic.” The band’s non-traditional live set-up of telephones, megaphones and a vintage reel-to-reel player named “Irene,” have garnered them much attention, but it’s their undeniable songwriting chops that have made them truly stand out. Or as MTV…
Threading through their music with a dreamy soundscape of guitars, EE creates an introspective style of indie rock that really makes one think. This album, originally released in 2000, has been clamored for since the second that the original run on Curry Records sold out. The plodding nature of the songs on Ramadan, exemplified by the title track, creates this sixties-style of California flavoring felt throughout the entire disc. Opening…

In the midst of all this turmoil EYEHATEGOD have become the…

This special EP was created to show that even the Editors’ B-Sides and tracks left on the cutting room floor were still better than 99% of indie rock on the market currently. The first track on the disc is “Heads in Bagsâ€, and it shows the lead singer of Editors coming forth with a Morrissey meets Bauhaus approach to things, sounding cold but really being very emotional all at the…

The disaffected vocals that are such a major facet of Editors’ sound is something that has to be related to prior acts, most notably Joy Division. For example, songs like “Blood†have the same wide-open style that “Transmission†has all those years ago. Every constituent part of Editors’ music is intricately tied to the rest of the music on the disc, even if there are wide spaces between each instrument.…

“Ruthless Warrior†is a track that is a mixture of rock and punk music, which creates Edenpark’s sound as something that is almost hardcore in its implementation. The use of multiple vocals during the track give the track a full sound that is a good introduction, considering the true “Intro†is a little too long for individuals to stay interested throughout. The fact that Edenpark sticks in a second set…
