The Capital Grille Pittsburgh

We were lucky enough to be invited to The Capital Grille in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (301 Fifth Ave) and made our way into the restaurant a few minutes before our reservation. We were invited into The Capital Grille’s lounge and offered a drink in the few minutes while the restaurant prepared for its 5 PM opening; a smart usage of wood, prominent display of luxurious liquors, and plush seats made the…

Dante Boccuzzi | D.B.A. Restaurant Review

Dante Boccuzzi opened D.B.A. on July 4th, 2011 and is surging into its fourth year of existence well. The restaurant works with local companies to provide the freshest cuisine; the vegetables utilized by D.B.A. have been sourced from Hattie’s Garden. We stopped by to experience the five-course tasting menu of D.B.A. and spent a little over three hours looking out at a scenic view of Akron’s downtown and the valley.…

Burntwood Tavern – Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio

The night that we visited the Burntwood Tavern in Cuyahoga Falls we were worried about getting to the restaurant; the sheer amount of rain that was falling made it a challenge to pull in.  Rather than get drenched on the short walk from the car to the entrance, the Burntwood Tavern offers valet parking to keep one out of the crazy northeast Ohio climate.

Heavy Seas Alehouse (Baltimore, Maryland)

We have been lucky enough to review a number of Heavy Seas beers in the last few years. When we found out that we were taking a trip to the East Coast, we made it a point to stop in Baltimore at their Alehouse (the company owns and operates a second location in Arlington, Virginia).

Shake Shack – Inner Harbor, Baltimore

One of the main things that we gleaned from our trip to the Inner Harbor in Baltimore is that it stays incredibly busy at all points during the day. The newly-opened Baltimore Shake Shack bustles in the same way, but unlike the stop-start traffic, the restaurant is able to quickly take orders and provide stellar service. The chain has increased in number since the beginning days in New York City, but…

Nando’s Peri-Peri (Towson, MD)

Nando’s Peri-Peri was founded in the 1980s in South Africa, and the concept has spread in the years since to the United States. The restaurant has set up shop in the Washington, DC, Baltimore, MD, and Chicago, IL markets. We started off with the Hummus with PERi-PERi Drizzle (5.95); the hummus was creamy, nutty, and one could infuse the stuff with any of Nando’s variety of PERi-PERi blends or the…

Crave Restaurant – 7101 Democracy Boulevard, Bethesda, Maryland

We were lucky enough to be invited to dine at the Crave Restaurant in Bethesda, Maryland when we took a trip out east. The large menus that the restaurant offers ensures that there will be a unique experience had with each subsequent visit. To begin the meal, we had their Lobster & Shrimp flatbread ($16), which united a crispiness from the bread with a creaminess (from the garlic cream sauce)…

Stokke Flexi Bath Review

Having an easy way to clean a baby while having enough wiggle room for a little one is the tradeoff that a number of mothers and fathers face. A number of baby baths on the market are rigid, ill-fitting, and take up a large amount of room. The Stokke Flexi Bath looks to address a number of these issues. The bath is foldable, meaning that it can be stashed…

Greektown Casino Hotel

We were up in Detroit, Michigan this last weekend and we received a room at the Greektown Casino and Hotel. We have been to the Greektown Casino a number of times as it is one of our favorite locations to go in Detroit. We have never had the opportunity however to go and spend a night at the casino’s attached hotel. We received one of the deluxe king accommodations on…

Famous Dave’s Bar-B-Que (North Olmsted, OH)

Famous Dave’s is a chain that has locations through the United States. We were lucky enough to be invited to their North Olmsted, Ohio location. We were immediately greeted and taken to our seats. The server was able to get in our drink and appetizer order. A few minutes later, we experienced the Barbecue Nachos ($6.99), which at the small size was more than enough to sate three or four…

Deli Ohio (328 Walnut Avenue NE, Canton, OH 44702)

Canton, Ohio is seeing a resurgence downtown, with a number of stores (The Auricle, Arrowhead, Canton Brewing Company) looking to revitalize a long-dormant metropolis. The Deli Ohio has a chill atmosphere with solid colors, decently open space and an open kitchen so that one can see their food being made. The chipper attitude of the cashier put the cherry on the ordering process, while the sandwiches were delivered to our…

Ted’s Montana Grill 6195 Sawmill Road, Dublin, OH)

Ted’s Montana Grill is an upscale dining establishment; we were ecstatic when we were invited in for a meal. The restaurant is decorated in a late-19th / early-20th century format, eschewing the big screens and less formal aspects. What ultimately is presented is a comfortable, accommodating restaurant that has enough variety in its menu to appease young and old alike.

Diono Olympia Convertible Plus Booster Car Seat

Diono’s Olympia Convertible Plus Booster Car Seat is a perfect blend of safety, comfort, and stylish design. The Safestop harness distributes the force of braking equally across the body rather than concentrating it upon a single point, while the lower height of the Olympia has been shown to provide greater security and safety to children in the event of a crash.

Dave and Buster’s (25735 1st St, Westlake, OH 44145)

We had a chance to experience the Dave and Buster’s in Westlake, Ohio and had a memorable time that neither or nor the wife were likely to forget. We were lucky enough to stop by on a Wednesday (1/2 price games) during the company’s Summer of Games promotion. This ensured that we were able to play a number of Dave and Buster’s newest titles at a fraction of the cost…

Elevation Burger (3365 Washtenaw Avenue, Ann Arbor, MI)

We were in the Detroit area and thought driving the hour or so to the Ann Arbor area would be a good day trip from the Motor City. While in Ann Arbor, we stopped at Elevation Burger on Washtenaw Avenue. We had an experience that was memorable and have found a new chain to hit up whenever we are in that quadrant of Michigan.

Jean “Geno” Sylvain / Genetics By Geno

Genetics By Geno is a bit of a misnomer; the work that Geno has done to improve his body to one of the best in the world is largely due to his own sheer drive and determination. The information that he provides in his gym and online will similarly benefit anyone that is looking to cut down weight, build up strength, and be as healthy as humanely possible.

City Barbeque (Columbus, Ohio)

We visited the City Barbeque in the Polaris area (8491 Sancus Blvd, Columbus, OH) a few days back and had a stellar meal. The company has a number of distinct menu options to ensure that individuals have a meal that will far outstrip the offerings of any other fast-food or sit-down restaurant around.
