As part of my main job as a teacher, I have to do a lot of standing around. In the current climate, it’s been a bit of a change up to my routine as I have had to stay in place. Livestreaming may be a fun use of technology, but it is deleterious to my posture. Where I could stretch out and wander around the classroom for an hour or two each session, I have felt myself start to break down a bit. I’ve been planning on purchasing some orthotics that I could slip into my shoes. Even if I have a break of a month or two over Thanksgiving and winter, the weather down in Arkansas is so temperate that I should be able to still go out on hikes and make it through the city. It’s not like when I lived in Ohio, where you would have to get on your snow boots in early October and slog through the ice until April.

During the bit of downtime that I will have at the end of 2020, I think I’ll be putting in a good amount of work to protect NeuFutur from natural and artificial problems. While I use realtime protection for my website currently, this website has some good information about EMP concerns that anyone seeking to have constant uptime will have to consider. While EMP weapons are still pretty firmly locked in the sci-fi vault as far as weaponry entails, there are various EMP sorts of behaviors that can occur from sun spots or other similar events. If I get that sort of installation incorporated during this break, I can actually store my car in my garage (replete with Canadian Doors) and not have to worry about wrenching my arm out of its socket the next time I have to move my vehicle.
