The interesting thing about Stigers’ opening track on “No Vacancy” is that is sounds as if ey will break into a much harder chorus than what ultimately comes to bear during “Ruide With You”. In fact, what results in the chorus of “Ride With You” is something that closely parallels early Sammy Hagar or ZZ Top. The track still is fun to listen to, and could easily be on any…

Pow-Wow Botanical Rye Whiskey has one of the most eclectic sets of flavors that we have ever experienced in whiskey. The rye whiskey format always has more nuance than a comparable barley or corn whiskey. The inclusion of botanicals (including Orange Peel and Saffron) to Pow-Wow ensures that no two tastes will be exactly the same. While we had sips that were more fruit-lead, others yielded something much more sweet…

Encore une fois / Ce sera un temps de malheur / No Time to Be 21 (The Adverts cover) Bad choices, bad actions, bending bones. “If I could just start over…” only to make the same mistakes. I blame myself, but I won’t flee. I’ll absorb. Go down, go down, go deeper. I’ll choose the synthesizers…

Based in melody and distortion, their live show is a combination of unique vocals, evocative music and narrative film. They have been featured by the likes of NPR All…

Very few single compound-containing supplements are able to provide a significant effect for those that are taking them. Syneburn, a Primaforce supplement, contains 10 milligrams of Synephrine from Citrus Aurantium (Bitter Orange). Supplementation with Syneburn will provide a large boost to one’s energy without the rapid crash that energy pills provide. Furthermore, Syneburn decreases the overall hunger level of those that supplement with it, decreasing the desire to snack and…
“Lost in Time” has a shine that is unmistakably eighties, whether it is through the Cure-like guitars or the melodramatic vocals present on the track. The track is intense yet unmistakably depressing; the aforementioned guitar lines elicit sympathy and remorse for the lead male vocalist. Continuing the retro style of “Lost In Time”, the vocals move even more close to recreating those of Robert Smith during “Damn This Foolish…
Dan Deacon’s new music video for his RSD single ‘Konono Ripoff Nº1’ is a snap shot, time capsule and video yearbook of the Baltimore scene rolled into one. Like many of Deacon’s art project-as-music-videos (see ‘True Thrush‘ music video from Deacon’s 2012 full-length America) the cast is made up of the Baltimore arts community. The video is a series of animated GIF portraits of each cast member with objects they…
The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp is a 1943 title that showcases the evolution of conflict from the years immediately preceding the first World War out until the mid-point of World War II. General Clive Candy (Roger Livesey, The Stowaway and Finger of Guilt) is increasingly left behind in all aspects of society, whether it be warfare, love, or culture. The liberal usage of flashback scenes provides viewers with…
A problem that I have identified with a number of fat burning supplements has to be the tendency to just slap a ton of caffeine into a blend of components and call it a day. MHP’s Dopamite includes those components that have been overwhelmingly shown to effect body fat, and as a result, this is one of the few fat burning supplements that we have reviewed that has any…
Dead Island Riptide is the new gold standard in zombie themed games. A number of efforts have suffered from the prominence of shows like The Walking Dead, meanging that companies are more than happy to slap zombie skins and elements on an unrelated title. Dead Island Riptide is a title that is able to appease all fans of the zombie genre while keeping the gameplay elements intuitive and immersive.…

Big D and the Kids Table front man David McWane has said, “There are people who want to be in a band and then there are musicians.” Once in a while a group comes along that makes music simply because they have no other choice – they are addicted musicians. McWane describes the group as – “Modern American gypsies.” Big D and the Kids Table have been playing strong…

ScienceNV has been around since 2005, and are releasing their third album, Last Album Before the End of Time, on April 30th. In the time since their debut effort, 2008’s Really Loud Noises, the act has evolved considerably. I feel that the tracks on Last Album… showcase a more pensive and thoughtful act than was heard on Really Loud Noises or 2010’s Pacific Circumstances. ScienceNV is a band that gets…
