Lifetime Fashion Solitaire (PC)

I immediately fired off this game to my fiancé, who is a big fan of both “dress-up” and solitaire types of games. Needless to say, this game has an appeal that goes beyond merely the younger set. Lifetime Fashion Solitaire is a game that has players attempt to find the clothing and accessories that are the perfect match for models. This is done by matching specific cards from a solitaire deck (all having different styles, cuts, and colors of clothing and accessories on them) to the needs and desires of the models, which are captured through icons in a word bubble.

The number of models, the desires of the models, and the orientation of the cards make for a progressively harder game at each subsequent level. Where players may have the most fun, however, would have to be in the ability to design and use their own clothing in each of the levels. This means that if you want the oddest green, striped, low-cut dress you’ve ever seen, you can make it. Finally, players can photograph their own fashion at the end of each level. While I feel that this option was not properly conceptualized (perhaps having some incentive for amazing pictures), the inclusion of this ability is such that it will keep players involved in the game for even longer than would normally be the case. The game itself has a good 5 to 6 hours of game play for the older set, and will likely reach into the double digits for the younger set.

While the graphics are not the top of the line, they do not need to be: the clothing, modeling, and design of the humans themselves are enough to show differentiation and are enough to keep players playing for a long period of time. This game has legs, as well. I could conceivably see further releases on the Lifetime Fashion Solitaire line released with different clothing, models, and game play elements, while still having the same compelling nature that this original release had. If you are a fan of solitaire or dressing-up types of games, make it a point to pick up Lifetime Fashion Solitaire. Furthermore, if your child would like something along this line, I would wholeheartedly recommend this game to them.
