Founded in the summer of 2008, SYSTEM DIVIDE quickly became a transnational project. Within its ranks includes vocalists Sven De Caluwe (ABORTED) and Miri Milman, and guitarist Mendel Bij De Leij, bassist Andrei Aframov, and drummer Mike Heller (FEAR FACTORY, MALIGNANCY). SYSTEM DIVIDE set out to revolutionize the conventions of the over-saturated melodic death metal genre, proving that extreme metal can have more depth than blast beats, while female vocals do not have to conform to the precepts of the “Goth” genre.

The band’s debut EP, The Collapse, struck a chord with some of the members of Whitechapel so they brought SYSTEM DIVIDE to the attention of Metal Blade Records, who signed the band and released their first full-length The Conscious Sedation. SYSTEM DIVIDE recorded with producer/engineer Cole Martinez, who worked with the band on their debut EP, with mixing and mastering handled by the infamous James Murphy (ABORTED, SWWAATS, LAZARUS AD, SIGH, ARSIS). A video for single The Apex Doctrine was directed by Kevin Custer (HATEBREED, TESTAMENT, DOPE, DYING FETUS, SUFFOCATION) and debuted on BlankTV with an overwhelming response and, to date, has received over 313,000 plays on YouTube alone.

Supporting their first full-length album, SYSTEM DIVIDE did 3 successful North American tours with bands such as IN THIS MOMENT, EPICA, ELUVEITIE, 3 INCHES OF BLOOD, HOLY GRAIL, ABORTED, AUGURY, SISTER SIN, and STRAIGHT LINE STITCH just to name a few. The band also had their first European appearance at the infamous 013 in Holland and played the prestigious Metal Female Voices Fest in Belgium. With a revamped line up and new material under its belt, it’s time for SYSTEM DIVIDE to show what the band is really made of and destroy venues worldwide.
