Typhoon, one of the most talked about new bands, is excited to give fans a sneak peak into their upcoming LP with the release of new song “Common Sentiments.” Full of the band’s signature sound of horns, strings and group vocal crescendos, the dynamic “Common Sentiments” will be accompanied by b-side “Green” – an impressive track with an emphasis on melody and production work.

The “Common Sentiments” limited edition 7″ – mixed by the legendary Phil Ek (Built To Spill, Band of Horses, Fleet Foxes) – will be available along the band’s upcoming 3-week tour that will beginon November 2nd in Bellingham, WA and culminate in the band’s hometown of Portland, OR.

“We’ve been working on a new record for several months now,” says lead singer / songwriter Kyle Morton. “It’s called White Lighter and ‘Common Sentiments’ is a song-based attempt to reconcile what we hoped for with what we got. The whole thing won’t be out for a few more months, but this song is where it starts.”

Typhoon has been working diligently on White Lighter at the isolated Pendarvis Farm in Portland, Oregon. The upcoming LP – more details to come – was produced and engineered by the band.

In 2011, Typhoon caught the attention of many with their EP “A New Kind Of House” whichEntertainment Weekly, Paste Magazine, Absolute Punkand NPR, among others, simply called”absolutely stunning.” Along with a notable TV debut on The Late Show with David Letterman,Typhoon spent most of 2011 on the road sharing the stage with The Decemberists and performing at festivals such as Lollapalooza and the Newport Folk Festival.
