It comes as no shock to anyone who has been paying attention to politics, that the rich – from both parties – control our elections and own the politicians once they get in office.

P2PPosterNewDirector John Ennis combines his lifelong love for the game of Monopoly to make this point remarkably clear. Featuring interviews with academics and figures from the political and financial worlds (including Noam Chomsky, Robert Reich, Jack Abramoff and many others), Pay 2 Play is one best documentaries to tackle role of money and influence in politics.

Equal parts maddeningly frustrating and entertaining, Pay 2 Play does a strong job of highlighting how money has corrupted our democracy. The findings here are sadly not that hard that to believe, but to see the plans laid out so starkly is just disheratening.
