Slavery has a retro feel to it that will recall the electrified pop of the halcyon days of the eighties and early nineties. The lush production behind Slavery makes the effort work admirably in the current period. A very poppy tempo and smooth feel to the instrumentation ensures that this track will easily slide onto radio rotation. I feel that Achim G does more with the pop genre than most artists with the marriage of politics and an overall catchy sound. Each side of the track (vocal and instrumental) combines to make a track that will stick with listeners long after the three minutes of the track. The linked video for Slavery allows listeners to have a set of lyrics, along with a collage of images that really hammer home Achim G, the performer. Keep an ear firmly to the ground, as Achim G will be releasing additional tunes in the months and years to come.
