I Need Thee Every Hour succeeds due to a number of distinct elements – strings and piano – that are able to be enjoyed as singular items just as they can be collected into a cohesive statement. Morning Has Broken has a bright, hopeful sound that is tattooed into listeners’ brains through smart repetition and a guitar line that rises and falls in all the right places.
