Vapes have come a long way in the past decade; to the point where we now have many options to customize our vaping experience based on our personal preferences. That being said, for those who are new to vaping, it can be a little tricky to work out not only what is needed, but also what you should be looking for based on the vaping experience you would like to have.

With many different components and all kinds of new terminologies, you would be forgiven for staring blankly at the screen, wondering where to even begin! So, without further ado, this article will serve as a guide to helping you build the perfect vape.

“A simple vape holds 2 main components.”

What Are the Main Components of a Vape?

The basic components of a vape all work together to create a vape model. There are a few variations when it comes to different parts of the vapes, which will be briefly explained in the following subcategories—giving you a better idea of how to build the closest spec to your ideal vape.

“Safety is key when choosing a vape battery.”

Choosing a Vape Battery

All vapes need a battery to work, so this part is an essential step. The battery will determine how much power is given to your vape and how long your vape charge will last in a day, so these are worth considering when looking through your battery options.

Batteries for vapes come in different shapes and sizes, so from an aesthetic and practical point of view, it is worth taking the time to consider the various options. However, not all batteries are equal! Not only do some last longer, but others also have the technology to adjust their power accordingly.

A battery absolutely must match the device in terms of specification in order to ensure safety, as there are dangers that come with overvoltage, including spontaneous combustion.

There is a lot of fun to be had with choosing our own batteries, given their effects on both the power and the size of vape clouds! However, that being said, it is important not to ignore basic battery safety—so make sure your choice of battery and device complement each other while getting to the closest spec you would like.

“A simple puff? Or a full-blown cloud?”

Choosing a Vape Atomizer

The vape atomizer is the heating element of the vape, where the e-juice is converted into vapor for you to inhale. The atomizer might look like a simple chamber, but there are a few points to consider when it comes to deciding how you would like your ideal vape to work. An essential part of the atomizer is the coil, which comes in various resistances.

For those who want a simple vapor production, lower-to-standard coils are a popular choice, offering a resistance of 1.5 to 2.8 ohms. These coils produce less heat, which in turn produces less vapor. This means they will also use the battery at a slower pace, where the charge can be preserved for longer and less e-liquid will be consumed while the vape is in use.

For those who prefer more of a cloud, the lower-ohms coils create satisfying puffs by producing more heat in the coil. This, however, will drain the battery at a quicker pace and will also use up more e-liquid. There are more risks with lower-ohms coils, so make sure to do your research in order to ensure a safe vaping experience.

Don’t worry if you’re already lost! There are a lot of words to learn when it comes to vaping terminology, so having an in-depth look into what everything means can help with your choices.

Sizes of Vaping Tanks and Extras

The size of the tank is one of those features that comes down to personal preference. Do you want it to be able to fit in your pocket? Or do you already have a shelf ready for it? Either way, there are a few points to consider when it comes to size. Bigger tanks mean fewer refills and faffing around; however, a small tank gives you the option to switch out e-juice flavors more regularly and also offers more inviting portability.

Various parts of a vape will need to be replaced as time goes on and components are worn, especially when it comes to coils and coil heads, so there is always a chance to try new options, whether it be a different style, color or product.

Whatever you choose, always make sure they are compatible—happy vaping!
