Smomid (Nick Demopoulos) Releases “Cyber Solstice”

Nick Demopoulos could have played it safe. Cyber Solstice could have been a nine track collection of straight ahead techno tracks with a bright keyboard and synthesizer-fueled bounce. Predictable, but intelligent and possessing widespread audience appeal. He chose another direction with his project Smomid, however, and now several releases into a growing discography, the latest collection Cyber Solstice plays like the fullest realization yet of the project’s promise. Denise Marsa Interview

Can you explain the process of creating the characters of the cowgirl and the alien? The title came first while I was mixing the original track in my home studio. They were opposites to me, the cowgirl and the alien. The visuals came quickly after, as I thought of one scene after the other. I lived in Tucson, Arizona for a bit and love the desert and for me the…

“Halcyon Days” by Chagall Guevara

You’ve heard this story before. It hasn’t quite been told in this iteration, however, with onetime darlings of the more than fledgling rock scene of early 1990’s Nashville playing a starring role. Guevara zoomed right up to the brink of potential global success before fashion and bad fortune knocked them out of the box. The whole band’s existence comes out of the blue. They likely never expected to go as…

Actor Linda Collins Entertains the Masses

Actor Linda Collins isn’t one for lying fallow. There’s something restless and yearning about her obvious constant involvement in one project or another, centering on film or music, that distinguishes her and others like Collins from mere entertainers. Make no mistake – the capacity to entertain the masses, even in part, is a blessing and increasingly so in the midst of the modern world’s struggles. We need respite, safe harbor,…

Panda Riot Releases New Album

Using size and sonic depth to tell us a story is nothing new in alternative rock, as the shoegaze movement has been teaching us for the better part of the last thirty-five years, but this isn’t to say that Panda Riot’s new album Extra Cosmic is lacking in profoundness – quite the contrary, truth be told. Where a lot of other alternative acts have abandoned indulgence in favor of a…

Sitting down with The Roughhousers

How do your prior years and experiences in the entertainment industry shape The Roughhousers releases? What brought the two of you together for this rockabilly duo? Little Wretches Release New Album

Little Wretches are part of a larger musical movement, indie folk-rock, but they don’t imitate anyone. Their embrace of retro songwriting styles, traditional instrumentation, and imagery common to such music isn’t pastiche but, instead, transmutes their individual experiences through a recognizable and time-tested vehicle. There’s a lot you’ll hear over the course of Red Beets & Horseradish’s thirteen songs that will remind you of other bands, artists, and singers. If you…

He makes his home in Chicago since 2020 and continues writing, recording, and performing with renewed vigor. “Flame Of Truth” by Chalice Collective

“Flame Of Truth” is the new single from Chalice Collective. A beautiful, and almost spiral-like formation, Chalice Collective takes special care in making this track a spindle of light and magic. All the senses come alive, as does the old noggin’. This song gets you both thinking and grooving. Imagine being stuck inside a Light Bright (remember those!) with a whole motherboard of colors at your feet. “Flame Of Truth”…
